OUR MISSION STATEMENT

1. The object of this Society shall be to encourage investigations on the physiology and pathology of the thorax and its contents, to stimulate the study of the etiology, symptomatology, pathology and treatment of diseases affectiong the thorax and its contents, and to disseminate such knowledge.

2. The Society shall serve as a liaison to sponsor education of the public and institutions with regard to services which Thoracic and Cardiovascular surgeons render to the community.

3. The Society shall promote and protect the highest standards of Thoracic and Cardiovascular surgery throughout the State of New Jersey.

It is the goal of this website to further the mission of the New Jersey Society of Thoracic Surgeons by:

1. Helping direct the public to appropriate medical information concerning the normal function and disease processes of the thoracic organs. These organs include the chest wall, esophagus, great vessels, heart and lungs.

2. Helping direct potential patients to fully trained and credentialled thoracic and cardiovascular surgeons in their community.

3. Providing a venue to disseminate information to member surgeons.
